You have completed the book review. You have chosen your book. ...but why? What drew you to this story or this particular book?
The theme of our "Senior Read" unit is the idea of "Windows and Mirrors". Would you say that this book acts as a window or mirror for you? No need to give specific reasons (as it may be personal) just let your fellow reader know how this book functions for you.
I chose this particular book because the plot of the story seemed very interesting. Everything I read about the book seemed suspenseful, and I enjoy those types of stories. I also think the idea of the book is universal - a young lady that has a difficult time seeing eye to eye with her mother. As for the "windows and mirrors" idea - I chose this book based upon the "window" concept. Why? I am not Latino, but I feel compelled to learn more about a group of individuals that I don't know much about.

I chose this book because I looked a little bit of information about this book up. The book is about a young latina girl who tries to prove herself but in return she discovers who she really is. This book is also Part mystery, part love story, and part inner quest. I enjoy reading books that have settings in different countries and that have different perspectives. I really think i'm going to enjoy this book and I cant wait to start reading!

Thank you so much for sharing! I hope you love the book!
DeleteI chose this book because I love mystery books. Just reading what the book was about really drew me in. It´s a story about a girl wanting to be accepted for who she is by her family. It also gives me a chance to learn about a different culture than my own. The story has elements of everything that I love reading about.

Thank you! This book really kept me on the edge of my seat - every time I thought I had it figured out something new happened!
DeleteI chose this book because I'm not the perfect mexican daughter either. My sister is basically Olga and I'm basically Julia. I also got the book because it grabbed my attention. I'm thankful that my sister didn't have to die to relate to the book. I try to be the perfect person as I am because there isn't such a thing as being the perfect mexican daughter. - Nayeli
